EVgo Will Offer Toyota bZ4X Customers DC Fast Charger Access
America’s largest public EV DC fast-charging network, EVgo, will offer bZ4X customers one year of unlimited free charging.
Toyota did not rush its entry into the EV segment. Now customers are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the all-new bZ4X electric crossover. The EV will mark Toyota’s first foray into the electric-only space. The Japanese automaker’s upcoming emission-free utility vehicle shows a lot of promise. The company is also making sure that its customers enjoy an outstanding ownership experience. Toyota Motor North America is joining forces with EVgo, a Californian EV fast-charging network company.
As a result of this partnership, bZ4X owners will get to enjoy on-the-go access to America’s most prominent public DC fast-charging network. This will also give customers easy access to high-power chargers at prime locations. The chargers are located at local hotspots like shopping centers, central downtown areas, and popular grocery stores.
The convenience and flexibility of EVgo’s charging network will help reduce range anxiety amongst customers. Owners can recharge their EVs while they run errands and shop. Vice president, EV Charging Solutions, Toyota Motor North America, Christopher Yang, shared his thoughts on the upcoming EV and the new collaboration.
EVgo currently offers thousands of Level 2 charging locations and over 800 DC fast-charging stations in North America.
“The arrival of our all-electric bZ4X marks an important step in our commitment towards electrifying 70% of our fleet by 2030. We want our bZ4X customers to enjoy a high-quality ownership experience that is as seamless and worry-free as possible,” said Yang. He further adds, “Collaborating with EVgo, the nation’s largest public fast-charging network, will help provide bZ4X owners with access to a fast, reliable charge where and when they need it.”
EVgo will also offer one year of unlimited free charging to all bZ4X customers. Even those leasing the all-new Toyota bZ4X can also take advantage of this offer. Customers can access EVgo’s public charging stations across the country. To locate an EVgo station, bZ4X owners can just sign up for the offer using the Toyota App. The network entirely relies on renewable energy and spans across 35 states and covers more than 68 metropolitan areas.
“This is just the beginning of Toyota’s next-generation battery electric vehicle products that will join our existing portfolio of electrified vehicle options and will drive our progress toward carbon neutrality,” said Yang.
