Bought 05 Prius Today

went to dealership just to test drive one in Fayetteville, AR this past week to look at seeing If I was interested to buy in late 06 and they ended up having one that someone didn't want. leather, really nice inside and rides great. bought it for 25. happy so far. looking forward to reading about the car with other owners.

i still love starting it. it's so weird. a button and the keyless entry goes into the dash. disappointed though i've only averaged 44mpg so far though

Thanks. It's about 30 here right now. Excited to here it goes up to 50 though. i tried not using the heater to see if that would help and didn't so this is promising news.

Bear in mind, the Prius is a completely different transmission, than what you're used to. Read up on techniques for how to maximize your gas milage. Check the wikipedia entry, for starters. If you drive it like a manual or automatic, you'll never do better than 45mpg, if that.

When I got mine, I would get 46MPG on the way to work and 42, on the way back. Now I get 55/53. When it's warm, next Spring, I'll probably get in the 60's.

Driving a Prius is fun as hell.
