TCH 2008 model - news?
I went to a Toyota dealer last week and asked when the 2008 was coming out. He (and his manager) said probably in Dec/Jan instead of the widely reported Aug (ex. when the base price of the 2008 was reported).
Does anyone know for sure when they will start selling the 2008 models.

I was told by a dealer I contacted via the internet Aug/Sept. They told me I could order right now and it would be 6-8 weeks. Take that for what it's worth. The toyota web site still show the 2007 for building you own.

We had a 2008 on order with a delivery date of the end of August before we changed to a 2007. Since it was already in manufacturing (this was about a month ago) it's very unlikely that they won't appear until the end of the year.
I should point out that being on the west coast these are Japanese production. The US factory might be changing over later.

Re: TCH 2008 model - news?
I have an '08 on order that is expected to be in this month, probably this coming week (Blue Ribbon, loaded, Hybrid of course). It is coming via the port of New York.
When I ordered it a couple of weeks ago the dealer basically re-tasked one that was already on it's way to a 'sister' dealership. I'm trying very hard not to obsess and call the dealer daily for status updates. I'm only calling them once a week.
I suspect the web site will be building '07s as long as they have a bunch they want to sell.
Anyhow, I'll post an update when the blessed event occurs...

Just an update. Decided to get the 2007 TCH instead of waiting. Silver Hybrid with Leather. Pickup on Thu.
The negotiations went well, took in the Edmund's printout and pretty much got that price plus a couple extra small peripherals already on the car.
Edmund's did not work as well for my trade in ... a difference of opinion between good vs fair condition.
All in all, a good experience.
PM me if you live in Atlanta and want the dealership/name.

Re: TCH 2008 model - news?
The dealer I went to had full printouts on the cars that were coming in. We looked at the data on two '08s -- a red one from Japan and a Blue Ribbon from Georgetown. The red was due in this week, and the blue at the end of the month. The printouts listed all the options and (retail) pricing along with the VINs and such.
It's possible that they don't have the general data, only the info on the specific cars that are on the way, but that seems unlikely.

Indeed.
Looks like the loaded '08 TCH (with convenience, leather, moonroof, nav) is about $200 more than the equivalent '07. ($309xx vs. $307xx)
Also, a loaded Hybrid is cheaper than a loaded V6 XLE (which you can run up to $32k), though the XLE might have a few exclusive goodies.
