Sound coming from rear maybe the vent
 

My TCH is nearing 4 years and the noise from the rear coming thru the vent in the back porch seems to be getting louder. I am wondering if this is brakes or something that everyone is experiencing.

Any number of things can cause a noise emanating from the rear of the car. Take it to someone you TRUST and have them check it out for you.

It is possible to crawl around the back while someone else is driving. You may be able to find out exactly where the sound is coming from, and what is making it, and then make an informed decision re what to do about it.

A noise coming from the rear shelf is often the result of two plastic pieces that rub against each other. With time, the clips loosen a little. There are threads with pictures on this site about adding pieces of foam tape to stop that plastic-rubbing noise.

Isn't there a fan back there for battery venting/cooling? Might want to check that also.
