Front Right Creak - Bushings or Body Cowl
Experiencing a quiet creak (not rattle or squeak) from the front passengers side occasionally while moving from stop, coming to a stop, turns and bumps. Jacked up the right side and inspected the wheel area and underbody -- couldn't find anything superficially wrong. Has anyone experienced a similar noise?
I found two toyota bulletins that may match this symptom: Stabilizer bar bushings (posted here by SPL) and a Body cowl/fender creak (google search). Has anyone done the Body cowl TSB? Is there any way for me to inspect the bushings? The bulletin says its a lubrication problem, could I just try to apply some high temperature grease to the bushing? The Body cowl and fender creak seems impossible to verify without some disassembly. The fix would require re-do welding and then using a crow bar to separate the cowl from the inner fender. |
