Electric Vehicle Forums - New 2007 HCH owner

Hello all. Just wanted to stop by and introduce myself. I am from Des Moines, Iowa and just got my new 2007 HCH on Thursday (Sept 27). I have wanted one of these for a few years now and its a lot of fun driving one of the most advanced pieces of technology on the road.

How I got my new car is actually kind of a funny story. I had been driving a 95 Ford Taurus for about 8 years now. This was the kind of car that started out driving like a dream but quickly fell apart after a few years (I was later told Ford had a lot of issues with the 95 model). After major transmission issues 2 years ago and engin problems last year, last Monday the car failed to start. The verdict: lets call it major electrical problems. The cost: over the KBB trade in value of the car. It was decided to kick the old Taurus to the curb. After some on-line shopping my wife stubbled on the 4 listings at the local Honda dealership for HCHs. We stopped by on Tuesday. Turns out, the dealership just got them in on Saturday. 2 had been on order and only 2 remained. I happily grabbed one of them.

Ironic, the only thing that old Taurus had done right in the past 4 years was die at just the right time. :)
