Insight - Tour de Sol mileage breakthrough for passenger car!
A modified Honda Insight broke the 100-mile-per-gallon barrier over a 150-mile range during a sustainable-energy and transportation competition being held May 13 through May 16 in Saratoga Springs and Albany, N.Y. The accomplishment, said to be a first for a passenger car designed for everyday use, took place during the National 2005 Tour de Sol in which more than 60 hybrid, electric and biofuel vehicles from throughout the U.S. and Canada demonstrated new technology that doesn't consume oil or cause emissions.
