Green Honda Insights/Any Advice for 1st Timer Taking Green Plunge
Hey, all...
I think Im gonna take the plunge on this, and Im going to ask anyone out there for advice on a used Honda Insight, most likely the 04. Can you tell me what I need to try to avoid? Oh, and BTW, anyone ever see any of the Shrek light green colored looking insights out there? I remember them, havent seen one in years! Maggie |

There's a website called Insight Central that you might find helpful:
http://www.insightcentral.net/ I saw one of the green Insights at my local Honda dealership about 2 years ago. It's one of those cars that you just have to stop and take a look at. At the time I wished I had a bunch of extra money to spend on it, but no such luck. |

You've probably already done so, but if you haven't checked out the wiki on the Honda Insight I highly recommend it. There is a lot of good info there.

Here's your Shrek car. Everyone has their own tastes of course; but as for me, yikes : Attachment 2938 |

What are your goals for a car?
Why do you like the Insight? What type of driving do you plan to do? Have you tried the CRZ or the 2010 Insight? The mileage you will get varies greatly with the way you drive and driving conditions. http://delicious.com/wwwtractor/insight/ |
Re: Green Honda Insights/Any Advice for 1st Timer Taking Green Plunge
I have the original 2000 Honda Insight. The battery and battery control module (BCM) were replaced (free) at age 7 years. My Lifetime millage is 62 MPG... Learning to get the best mileage is a learning process of 'short shifting' and looking far ahead to anticipate lights and traffic conditions... If driven conservatively, highway mileage can hit high 70s and low 80s MPG. I have hit the '700 miles per tank' feat (10.6 gal) several times. The only downside is some day needing to put out $3000 for battery replacement... YMMV.
