Cruise Control, Air-Conditioning, & Mileage
Hello, All!
I recently installed the Rostra Cruise Control in my 2002 CVT for long-distance trips (great!), and found it can be used to improve in-city gas mileage. You can engage it at 35mph, and increase/decrease speeds easily and precisely with the click of a button. By keeping it engaged, it will recapture energy (such as going downhill), and it doesn't engage the trottle when coasting or going downhill. Good news; this has helped boost mileage around town (in-city driving). I consistently get 56-62+ in-city driving this way, which is a marked improvement over manual, foot-pedal driving (51-53). This is without using air-conditioning. Bad news; here in Phoenix, where it's 112F today, you tend to use the a/c after 10 am. A/c use drops the mileage to 41-43, if you're careful! Anyone else have similar experiences or tips to add? Best to all, Ricco :shade: |
