Passenger Air bag light

Hello, when I left work yesterday, I noticed my Psngr air bag light remained on for about 40 minutes. It then went off. Does the interior temperature affect this... I have no clue. Thanks

Re: Passenger Air bag light

Did you happen to have a bag or something on the passenger seat? There's a sensor in there, trying to determine if there's a small child in the seat. I believe in that event the light will go on, indicating the air bag will not be deployed. Look in the manual, there's explanation. There's some cut-off weight, maybe 40 lbs?

The air bag also won't deploy if there's no weight detected on the passenger seat, but in the latter case the warning light won't stay on. It will go on, but just for a second-or-two during car start-up.

Yeah, I had a stack of files on the psngr seat. The indicator light under the air vent Psngr Air Bag yellow light was illuminated "off"
