Maintenance Required Light?
 

Hi all,
Recently my Maint. Req. light has been flashing when I turn on the car. I'm thinking maybe I just missed this before but I'm not sure. Has anyone else experianced this? I haven't had any issues with the car at all and the light doesn't stay on, just flashes when I turn and is off often before I even start moving. Please Help! Thanks!

This happens on the Prius, Its telling you its time for an oil change.. I would think its the same for the Hondas

Read yer manual. It tells you how to turn it off and explains when it starts to flash, and when it comes on solid.

Thanks! I'll take a look (Although it's at 8000 miles and it's had oil change so I don't think it's the oil deal.....unless they messed up)

guaranteed that they didn't reset the light after doing the oil change. Push and hold the trip/odo button with key off then while still holding the button in, turn the ign key to on (but don't start the engine ) for about 10 sec and the light will go out.....

Good grief, VampHuntD, it's like we're the same person or something. I, too, have the HCH 05, just past 8000 miles, and I too saw that light this morning as I turned on the car. I was thinking it had probably been doing it for a couple of days without my paying it enough attention. I also have had the oil changed and shouldn't have to worry about it for a while, and so I really appreciate having ralph_dog's advice here and ready to answer my exact question before I even ask it. I love this forum.
