Loose Head Restraints?

My head restraints are on the highest setting. They move back when my head touches them. Is this part of the 'active' head restraint system or something that I need to have checked out? Thanks!

There is an amount of free-play, yes.
Now, while there should be some, too much of it and it will rattle as the car moves - which is not nice. I would go see the dealer if this is the case.

Alternatively, you may wish to remove headrest yourself and carefully adjust/pull the poles appart just a little then re-insert it and see if that makes a difference.

Re: Loose Head Restraints?

Just got my 2007 Hybrid a couple weeks ago and same issue. Very loose Head Restraints, even when they are total down. They seem to flop around when your head touches them. It makes them feel really cheap. Have not tried bending them yet. I think I am going to let the dealership try and fix them.
I had a 2006 Civic EX and did not have this issue.

I will give an update after my first oil change. (About 5,000 miles)

Good luck!

Press back with your head and you will feel the seat in your back.

I believe the Active design works so in a rear collision the weight of your body pushing towards the seat will "push" the headrest forward toward your head.

I don't think it's broken, but do what will give you peace-of-mind.
