Customize radio welcome screen?

I noticed on Honda's website that you can customize the welcome window on the radio in the 2006 Civic Si:

(Follow the link - it's the last interior graphic thumbnail.)

The radio looks similiar to the one in the hybrid - anyone know if it works there too? I looked through the manual and couldn't find anything.

Not sure - but the radio, or at least the amplifier section, IS different in the Si than in the regular/hybrid Civics.

You CAN customize the boot-up screen on the Navi! I haven't tried it yet, but I do intend to give it a whirl when I have a free weekend. Check out the instructions here: http://guicide.com/cars/2006civic/nav/hacks/

You are able to customize the welcom on the stock radios for the ex and si coupes. it is in their manual. but, sedan owners are out of luck.

Re: Customize radio welcome screen?

Someone thought it was funny to change my greeting to a slightly profane message (jeez) and I couldn't change it back! even after thoroughly looking through the owners manual (2006 Honda Civic EX Coupe, Type B audio system). Called up Norm Reeves Honda, Cerritos, CA and they told me to do the following.

- Make sure the radio is OFF (key in ACC).
- Press and hold down the TUNE knob
- Press and hold down the VOL knob

The first character should start blinking. Push TUNE knob to change character, Push SEEK button to jump to the next character.

Hope this helps!

I used "ALL SYSTEMS GO", as the greeting message, I'd like to know what others are using.
