IMA Battery Software Update

We just got a letter from American Honda which says:
"The computer software in your vehicle needs to be updated. Without the update, a technician using a scan tool in generic mode on your vehicle could cause damage to your vehicle's electric motor battery and/or cause the engine computer to falsely signal engine misfires. Additionally, we also want to update the original PGM-FI software to the most current version number."

Anyone else get this notice and have any experience with what's going on? The letter emphasizes Honda will cover the cost.

I received the "sofware update" as well. I'm taking in my car on 2/2. I'll see waht this update does.

The only real diff that I saw (other than it's not not as easy for a tech to accidentally frying the hybrid system by touching it in a Priave Place with the wrong kind of wrench) is that - if you got the armrest-installed cappucino maker option installed - that now works during auto-stop.

Kinda makes you glad you didn't buy the civic. :shade:
