Check Engine Light
Has anyone had an issue with the Check Engine light coming on when a very quick acceleration is applied? I know stomping on the acceleration is probably not a good way to drive a car, but I did this once and it resulted in a "misfire code" that had to be reset. I should've just bought one of those computer code gadgets for the car and fixed it myself.
That bent said, I've had this "misfire" code a couple if times. Once when I hit the gas pedal hard and the other time when trying to merge quickly on a highway (but I didn't stomp on it like before). These events happened some time ago but I thought I would ask the forum if anyone had experienced this.... |
Re: Check Engine Light
Take your car to a dealership and ask them to apply the TSB for the Battery Control Module and PGM-FI software updates.

Re: Check Engine Light
Thanks! Is there a number for the TSB and is there also a place on the web where I can see what TSBs are out there?
I did have the TSB for the ANC issues with the radio several years ago, but I wish the dealer would check for outstanding TSBs when I bring my car in for routine service. Thanks again for the great help! |
Re: Check Engine Light
TSB 10-007 goes for misfire codes.
