2014 Honda Accord Hybrid Base Model - Ambient meter
 

the speed meter circle is always green. the book says it should change color with the speed. I have the base model so should it change color at different speeds? green, turquoise, blue??

I have a new 2014 HAH EL-X model and when I hit the accelerator hard the ring around the speedo turns blue indicating I am not being thrifty with fuel. I would imagine the base model should do the same thing.

tried the foot to pedal (hard) and yes you are right. It changed colors. But I don't see the point in the changing of the colors if you have to hit it hard. The point is to conserve fuel

It is just a gimmick to let you know you are not being thrifty with the fuel.
