Thud coming from front passenger side...
Is anybody experiencing a thud that comes from the front passenger side? It seems like it is the motor mount. I had this same problem on my 2006 hybrid, 2007 Si sedan, and now 2007 hybrid. In the 2006 hybrid they couldn't figure out what it is and it was never fixed. Then on the 2007 Si sedan there was a service bulletin out for the motor mounts on that side and that fixed the problem. But, the 2007 hybrid is not part of the bulletin. My 2007 hybrid is making the thud when driving over dips and bumps. But, not all of them. Just a certain type. I was able to duplicate the noise for the tech that went for a ride. I asked him if it was the motor mounts since that fixed my problem on the Si. He said he would call the tech line for Honda and find out. But, nothing came about that and they just checked the torque on the bolts and such. But, the thud is still there.
Are any of you have the same problem? |
Re: Thud coming from front passenger side...
No problems with my 2006 (21k miles). Perhaps I don't drive fast enough over dips and bumps to get this!

Re: Thud coming from front passenger side...
nope, that's not it. i had the tech and the supervisor of service go on a drive and they heard the noise. we emptied out everything in the car.

Re: Thud coming from front passenger side...
Exbauer,
It's a long shot, but read my thread about front-suspension noises: https://www.greenhybrid.com/discuss/...-noises-10449/. I would have never described the sounds I heard as a "thud", but if the strut bearings fail or bind, I guess there could be all kinds of different sounds. Otherwise, you mentioned a couple of other things that sound similiar: < 20 mph over certain bumps coming from the front of the car. Good luck, -dan |
