Tail Light removal
 

I tried pulling the tail light but can't get it off


Do i have to remove the top piece as well?

trying to ADD my ULTRA high power LED turn signals

There are 2 screws on the inner part of the tail light (toward the lift gate opening) and 2 locator pins on the outer part that are inserted into the quarter panel sheet metal. I think pulling straight back after removing the 2 screws should be all that is needed.

Yes it pulls straight back has 2 push fittings. I used a plastic putty knife wrapped in a rag to pry mine out far enough to be able to get my fingers under it to snatch it off, the push pins are pretty strong!!!! You can probably find a pic like on amazon for replacement tail light assemblies so you can see exactly where the push pins are placed, that might give you more confidence in where to pry and pull.

yeah i'm going to wait well i have my little 194 bulbs then pull it off the reverse bulbs are plenty bright and the engine runs backing up so no big deal on the "power part"
