Purchase advice

I am looking at purchasing a 2009 Yukon Hybrid 4X4, 72,000mi for $26,000 (private party/no taxes), clean carfax.

The problem is I have set a budget of $24,000. Do you guys think this car is worth the price? What would be a good reason to forego my personal budget and splurge on this car? Thanks.

Re: Purchase advice

it is the best year. 2009 was when the bugs have been fixed. it is a very low mile vehicle at 72k miles and cheap at $26k.

Ok!! I'm pulling the trigger on this one TOMORROW!!! Unless someone can talk me off the ledge last minute. Otherwise... pics to follow tomorrow night!

edit: Thank you evois for your input. I stayed away from the '08 models because of what I learned on this forum. Have had pretty good luck with cars over the years... hoping this one pans out too!

Make sure you check how it drives, if the service history is up to date in terms of oil changes(only thing needed really). You're in luck if he used Mobil I synthetic from the get go-that means many more miles ahead of you. Tranny, transaxle and differentials don't need to be changed until 100k miles. Good luck and good find. Post pics!

Re: Purchase advice

No M1 synthetic! He took the car to Jiffy Lube, used a synthetic blend, and didn't even know what viscosity it required.... big BOOOOOO!! Well I GOT IT!! I averaged 18.7MPG on the 4 hour ride home (cruise control the entire way) not as good as advertised. Then in the city I averaged 25MPG (30 mins or so)!! I took the 3rd row seats out (darn they are heavy), hopefully that helps a tad.

Best part... he accepted my final offer of $25,000.

At Walmart getting M1 full synthetic. I know... Walmart, but I needed to get that old oil out of there! Straight off the highway directly to get the oil changed.

The 18.7 mpg, what speed were you driving?

Yukon looks good man, congrats. I'm close to pulling the trigger on a 2009 Tahoe myself - 48K miles.

I get that mileage doing 99 mph highway in between 85 mph!

You have a "Cloaking Device" on that rig too?
