You guys should just move to the land of low gas prices. California.
No.......forget I sad that. On second thought, please don't come here.
Save yourself, please don’t come here. It’s bad for your health and may make you sterile or kill you. And the water taste bad. We are all dead men walking. Dead I tell you. Dead. Just look at what this place has done to the hairline on my lady killing beautiful face.
And I’m only 68.
Please don’t come here. Oh god, ..sob.. please save them all. Oh….the humanity.
This has been a Public Service Announcement.

As I recall those refineries are just across the state line in Whiting. You could make it a day trip and pop in on them.

Also, Illinois has the sixth highest gas tax of any state in the country- 52 cents per gallon. That makes a difference, dontcha think?

OK. I see your table. Look at Calif.
The problem with increasing the Fed tax (pay Big Oil or pay our selves) is that the states also tax gasoline. In the rest of the Western World, there's only a central gov't tax - I think.

Re: what are gas prices at for you?
We just broke into the $3.00 barrier last week at $3.05 early in the week and then $3.09 later in the week (though some stations this week are still at $3.05 like mine just down the street). This will be half-price soon though as I'm headed to San Francisco all next week. I think I almost filled in a second mortgage just for the fuel cost during the week of driving.
