Here in Kauai, HI, there are only 3 brands, Union 76, Standard, and Shell (and Union 76 is now part of Standard). Prices here are $2.95-3.05 per gallon depending on how close you are to the airport.

Re: what are gas prices at for you?
In Baltimore, the gasoline prices have been creeping up a few pennies per week and is now $2.39/gallon.
Likewise, the power company has been broadcasting a bunch of "apologetic" PSAs where they claim to not profit from the fuel price spike (bullcrap!)
All I can say is this: Under Bush, gasoline prices have doubled since 2000 and my home heating bills have QUADRUPLED! Yes, that's right. In 2000, I paid $125-$150/month to heat my home and this winter I'm paying $500-$600/month. But my pay has been cut in half since 2000 because of corporate downsizing (which Bush *loves* as much as he loves spending our tax money on welfare for the rich).
And one wonders why I became a Socialist. I was a Republican in 1999.

Just trying to understand your point. Lots of things have happened since 2000 besides Bush becoming President. But I don't see the connection between Bush and the cost of gasoline and natural gas. Nor do I see a connection between Bush and corporate downsizing.
In the cases of gasoline and natural gas, demand is growing and no new supply is coming on line. That is what causes prices to rise.
Companies downsize because it makes sense for the shareholders, not because the president tells them to.
My natural gas rates increased 50% starting in December to over $18 per 100 CF. I have responded by lowering my thermostat. For the months of December and January my heating bill has averaged $275 a month (3000 square feet and an 18 YO furnace)), about what it was last year. That means that my conservation effort has negated the rise in natural gas costs. What is also interesting to note is that my heating bill for Dec 2000 and Jan 2001 also averaged $275 per month. I hardly see how heating costs have QUADRULPED.
Geez, $500-600 per month in Baltimore? Im not certain but Im pretty sure that Pittsburgh has colder winters. I could heat two houses for what you are paying.
Gas prices have DOUBLED since 2000? By my records I was paying about $1.50 per gallon. Today it is $2.40. That is a 60% increase, not 100% (which is what doubled would imply).

$2.34 reg here in Canton MA. And thank you Exxon for a $10billion dollar quarter. Guess if you were to add up all the profits from each petro company, it would probably be about $100billion just this quarter alone...talk about price gouging??
