TPMS Works Well
I just wanted to share my experience with my 2008 FEH TPMS. My tire warning light came on this morning. I just had my service change (15K) a couple of weeks ago, and apparently they put my front tires at 30 PSI front, 33 rear, according to my tire guage. Anyway, the front left was at about 29.
I'm thinking - "will it reset"? This doesn't throw a code that the SG II can see. So I filled all 4 tires up to 40 PSI, turned on the ignition and, sure enough, the light was out! It's nice to know that it will immediately detect below 30 PSI. Now all I have to do is worry that the front left tire has a slow leak... |

I'm glad to hear that and I hope it works as well on my '10 Insight.
I discovered a nail in a rear tire sticking straight down into the sidewall. It is unrepairable and I refuse to buy a new tire when this one has less than 15K miles on it. Therefore I will "risk manage" it and count on the TPMS to let me know if it starts leaking. Of course that's not going to help me if it goes flat overnight... |

I think the trigger level is something like 15psi, not 30psi. Are you sure the dealer didn't rotate your tires when it was in for service? If tires got moved around then you need to retrain the TPMS or you will start getting alerts after 15 minutes above 60mph as I recall. I believe it always resets temporarily if the ignition is cycled.

The TPMS system is different on the '08+ Escapes (valve stem) than it is on the '07s (wheel bands). My experience is similar to yours on my '07, when I drive on dirt/mud/snow, I like to air down below 30psi and have not set off the TPMS yet. When I did get a TPMS alarm, there was a screw in the tire and it allowed me plenty of time to get off the freeway safely.

What would be nice is somehow we could set the TPMS to alert us if it got below 40 psi.
