Stop Safely Now
My 2010 Ford Escape Hybrid had this error message, freaked out and stopped. Had it towed to shop only for them to say everything was fine and it was due to the excesses heat temperatures. Is that even a thing! He said he tested the hybrid battery and it was fine. I am scared to drive it though because nothing was done. Any suggestions_

Re: Stop Safely Now
Ditto. Codes could point to a bad PCM that's fried like bacon.

Re: Stop Safely Now
If either of the internal battery cooling fans fail, the battery may get hot enough to trigger the "Stop Safely Now" message. The Forscan software can test the fans and report if one or both has failed. A Ford dealer can as well, but they will charge a diagnostic fee.
