Thanks Gary, that is interesting. In other words, the battery pack and parameters, the MG1 and MG2 sizes are still the same....given the HP of the new 2.5L 175HP engine, from your real experience, can the 2009 keep same fuel consumptioin level as the previous ones?

So many changes...I should have waited more towards the 2009....

The 2009 FEH has improved fuel efficiency that is likely to be realized more by Joe and Jane Sixpack than the hypermiling champions. The 2009 vehicle just goes into EV more fequently and quickly without using hypermiling techniques than the previous versions.

Billy's right, all the changes have improved mileage. The new Fuel-cut is a biggie for me because I constantly use it during recharging the battery. Often times I see an increase in mileage during DFSO (Deceleration Fuel Shut Off) trying to recharge the battery for EV again. The new HO2S helps handle the E-10 gas and I'm seeing better instant fuel economy even during warm-up. The '09 also warms up quicker and I often have to wait for enough SoC in order to go EV because everything else is ready. The '09 has more power and better fuel economy.
