Powertrain changeover year 2008 or 2009?

I'm looking at replacing my 06 FEH - I've loved it and run the heck out of it. As I'm looking, I'm wondering what year Ford did the change where they've replaced the engine driven A/C with the electric A/C and gotten rid of the rear A/C for the batter. From what I understand, the '08 is just a new body style with the old powertrain, and the new powertrain came about in '09.

Is that correct?

'08 was indeed new body with roughly the same drivetrain as '05-07. '09 upgraded the hybrid drivetrain but retained the engine driven A/C. '10-12 were the electric A/C.

Thank you.

I hate the choice of either run the engine or roast. To me the electric A/C is a HUGE improvement so I'll be looking for the '10-12 model years.
