Need New HV Battery

Help. Can anyone direct me to a source for a new HV battery for my 07 Ford Escape. The dealer wants around $7000 to replace mine. It is not covered under warranty because it has a salvage title. I have seen in a few posts in the forum that you can possible get one from a non dealer source for $1500. If this is true I would be interested. Thanks.:zip:

Try http://www.pamsauto.com/pc-370542-13...08-hybrid.aspx

They might still have it, I have never used this company, but it might be worth a shot to ya.

Thanks for the reply on the used battery. I already had a line on a used one but I have learned that this might not be a great idea especially if the battery has been sitting idle for very long. I think this might be the problem with the original battery (it had sat for probably a year before being fixed). If I can't find a new one I guess there are companies that rebuild these batteries. Doses anyone have a lead on one of these companies in the western U.S.?
Thanks.

Hybrid plus (?) in Colorado, the place the does the PEHV upgrades, not sure what they do with the old HV batt.

Ebay? I've seen a few over the years, not sure what you'd get.

Salvage yard, a recently totaled one?

Check Ebay. There is a salvage company that lists frequently. He has advertised at least 2 batteries from low mileage FEHs. Prices from 500 to about 1,200.

Hybrids-Plus in Boulder CO, would be a good place to go first.
Last time I was there in person, they had six or so on the shelf, and were willing to part with them for about $1500 when I asked about them.
I didn't really need one, so didn't get one.
They can sit for several months and be OK.
Plus, those folks have the ability to charge them on the shelf to keep them healthy.
