Intermittent P0A1F
I have an intermittent code- P0A1F. At first I thought it was related to acceleration- but after many tests- it seems completely intermittent. Sometimes I get just the wrench light. Other times I get both the wrench and check engine light. I have reset the DTC's and Rmode re-balanced (30mins, 45 mins) twice. The only thing that this code dose every time is suspend the hybrid engine. The battery will not kick on while idling or while in low speed situations- after the warning lights come on. I have found that if I reset the DTC's then run a Rmode re-balance I can get the hybrid engine to work again - temporarily. As soon as the code pops, the hybrid engine won't assist. I can still turn the engine over though. The other odd thing is that the warning lights will not turn on every time. By that I mean, I can drive it for 20 miles. The warning lights will come on. I will then turn the engine off, leave and come back, turning the engine on. The warning lights are no longer there. But the hybrid battery functions are still suspended. I have posted the code list here, and the Forscan reading of the BCM after the code had popped.

Re: Intermittent P0A1F
Looks like you're getting P0A1F_27 and _31.
This is either because the cells in a given module are weak or failing, or a sensing issue with the BCM. The quick fix is to replace the BCM and see if that fixes it. |

Re: Intermittent P0A1F
No. The BCM is inside the battery.

Re: Intermittent P0A1F
That's the BCM.

Re: Intermittent P0A1F
Replaced the BCM with a new one. I cleared the DTC's and ran a Rmode re-balence twice (about 15 mins each). There are no BCM DTCs, but there are still battery faults. See below.

Re: Intermittent P0A1F
What am I missing? I don't see any faults. An extremely low SoC has the discharge disabled.

Re: Intermittent P0A1F
Sorry, I was looking at P0A1F_27-30. It dose not say Fault- I was looking at the cell failure. It still turns over- and we run it every two days. I dont know why it would have such a low State of Charge. Should I run it and do breaking?
