Inspect wheel ends for end play and noise
 

In the Scheduled Maintenance Guide, every 10,000 miles it suggests:

"Inspect wheel ends for end play and noise"

Why is this? Is this some weakness in the Escape wheel design? Are there folks out there who have found end play and noise and if so, after how many miles? Front and/or rear wheels? Cost of repair?
