Re: Brake Failure
The ABS module they are referring to is the mechanical valves and motor assembly on the lower firewall on the passenger side. The part that has all the brake lines going into it.

Re: Brake Failure
I will ask the Service Advisor to show me which module went bad when I pick up the car tomorrow. Thanks for the info, it is very informative!

Re: Brake Failure
Well, guess what happened? The dealer called yesterday and told me the ABS module came in. However, the dealer doesn't have the correct tool to install it! Now I have to wait for them to get the tool from another dealer? Don't know how long this will take... two weeks? I hope they fill-up the gas tank before I pick-up the car for all my troubles.

Re: Brake Failure
if you live in a larger town that has more than one dealer this may only take a day to barrow the tool. At least they were honest with you, most others might try to blow some smoke up your ----- .

Re: Brake Failure
You are correct about the dealer being honest. However, how can a dealer not have the correct tool needed to install a part? I hope the find one soon!

Re: Brake Failure
The dealer seems to be honest. However, I still can't understand how a Ford dealer doen't have the tool(s) needed to install a part...and this is one of the biggest Ford dealers in SOCAL!

Re: Brake Failure

Re: Brake Failure
Looking at the procedures they either dont have the software update on their computer or they dont have the correct power brake bleeder, I would vote the latter. They may have a power bleeder just not the specific one the software works with. HTH

Re: Brake Failure
Looking for some advice ie-regenerative brake sounds.
A few weeks ago the quiet hum my 2006 FEH makes prior to starting changed to a loud stutter. I went to the dealer today, was told that if I didn't have a "code" showing that nothing was wrong, but I could pay for the diagnostic (42K-out of warranty). OF COURSE they came back and said nothing was wrong, but I KNOW there is a problem here. Should I ignore it until something fails, or is there a way to get them to recognize my concerns? (PS Haven't been on here for almost a year, but having a ball trying to "hypermile"-34.2 currently). |
