Beginning HF installation
My Escape Hybird is is a tow car behind my motorhome and I have my tow light wiring passing threw the large double rubber gromet for the stearing column. I just finished feeding the power cable for my IC-7000 threw the same place but on the oppisite side. I am concerned about a good ground connection and the possibility of a DC filter for the 12vdc power feed?? I am still in the process of seeking any addational information.

Re: Beginning HF installation
Best practice is to run both positive and negative to the 12v battery...make sure they're both fused also, you don't want a lightning bolt (or an overhead power line) finding a route through your radio to the ground. Also, expect quite a bit of hash on HF from the ICE and the computers in the FEH. I find it's hard to hear anything but the loudest signals while the ICE is running.
