2006 FEH P0A1F and LOS Status

Hi folks, new to posting here but a long time lurker. I have a 2006 FEH 300K plus miles which I believe has the original battery. Recently I've been getting a service soon wrench light and Forscan says the battery mode goes into LOS and I have a loss of power esp at low speeds with an obvious increase in gas consumption. About a month ago I was getting an intermittent code for the blend door actuator. I haven't seen the code recently but I replaced the actuator anyway just to see if it fixes the LOS issue. I had also gotten codes for the battery fans around that time. I already replaced the fans about 2 years ago with new ones, but I replaced them again this past weekend just to see if that fixed the problem and it hasn't. My EVAP temp will get down into the 30s, but the battery will stay a lot warmer than normal 88F - 110F. After replacing the blend door I've seen the temp drop 8-10F when it gets that warm, with a cold EVAP. That's why I thought it could be the fans or one fan failing, even though I could hear them and confirmed they were both running when I opened the case last weekend. I've seen the AC on demand switch turn on and then off again when the battery eventually cools down that 8 degrees or so. I've tried resetting the BCM via Forscan, and the issue comes right back after a mile or so. I've also been getting a Service Emissions warning on the dash with no associated DTC that I can find. So I'm not sure if this is related. So what else can I check before I have to look into replacing the battery? I'd like to look at all other options because I don't have 3k to spare right now. Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

For about $24, you can get access to ALL Ford manuals for extended diagnostics.

The fan codes don't always mean bad fans. They can mean the control circuit has failed. That plus the P0A1F - Battery Energy Control Module suggests it may be a controller issue.

All codes starting with "P" are emission system codes.

I see that the subscription is only good for 72 hrs at that price. Is the information downloadable?

Once you target the data you need, you can save it as PDFs. Once subscribed, you want to be able to dedicate as much as several hours into doing research and saving documents.

Yes ok! Looks like I will be filling up a flash drive. Both of our vehicles are Fords so it would benefit both of us. Thanks!
