100k miles?

Just turned 110k.

This thing is tight, clean and my gut says hang on to it. SWMBO wants to keep it till the wheels blow out, LOL! Really impressed with this little rig. Might have to shoot for another 100k.

Anyone else looking at around 100k? What's your thoughts of your FEH?

Re: 100k miles?

To me it is a question of the cost of upkeep. Most engines today will do 200,000 miles if well maintained, and there have been some reports of FEH's going well over that. I had a Volvo 850 once that cost me 20 cents a mile to keep once I crossed 100,000 miles plus gas. It was not worth it. Hopefully, the FEH will be much cheaper.

104,000 miles and climbing.

Should be at 110,000 by this summer.

I can still knock out 50 MPG trips on a warm day.

John:

Curious about your techniques and tweaks to get those great numbers. Any suggestions re highway speeds used, pressures, P&G, etc.? My best is about 36 +/-, and I'd like to get it higher. So far, using full synthetic, K&N filters, tires (Firestone Destination LEs) kept at 42psi+, eggshell pedal pressure, kept clean.

Advice from experts appreciated.
