So I've been having some problems with my 06 ford escape hybrid, it hesitates to take off when it shows the hybrid battery is low, does this mean I need a new hybrid battery? It charges up after driving it for 20-30 mins then its fine.

Re: 06 FEH will not accelerate on take off

When starting off from a stop (as well as in other situations), the gas engine gets an assist or boost from the electric motor and battery. When the HVTB is at low state of charge, there is no electric assist available. If your SUV has been sitting 10-14 days, what you are experiencing is normal. If the HVTB is that deleted after just sitting for a day or so, you either have a HVTB issue or you are driving the last mile or two to your home on electric power alone, thus depleting the battery.

Probably. Common failure of the Sanyo cylindrical cells is pervasive self-discharge where they can't hold their charge for durations even as little as overnight.
